Interview Questions

Job interviews are enough to make some people panic so much they turn into gibbering wrecks. Preparation is the only way to bolster your confidence and to maximise this opportunity to land yourself the job you are applying for. If you go in completely unprepared, you can expect a rough and unforgiving time and to come out empty handed and despondent.

Interview Questions

Like anything else, you get out what you put in. By doing some research about the company and as much preparation as possible you will come across as somebody very capable of handling themselves and their duties within the workplace, which is what all employees look for, and what is in part, the point of the interview.

Generally, there are many familiar questions which will be asked within the interview, and knowing and preparing for which interview questions you will encounter, will go a long way to helping you answer them in a concise, clear, direct and eloquent manner. Many interviews which start off badly will end badly, but interviews which start off good will seldom end on such a bad note, despite the interview questions you encounter, because it is really all a matter of confidence and how you compose yourself which will see you through.

One of the trickiest questions you will be given during an interview might be: “Why do you want to work here, and what do you feel you offer our company?” Honesty is an important quality, but don’t be too blunt. Yes, you want the money, but don’t simply say: “I want the money.” Tell them that you are really interested in what the company does, and particularly in the position you are applying for, and it is something you have wanted to do for a long time, or have always enjoyed doing as a job (whichever you choose), and feel your experience (if you have any) or ability to learn quickly and work well with others, or on your own with good initiative would make you a good asset to the company, and you feel there is a good future for you at this company. A company really wants to know you are interested in the job and not just the money, so the more enthusiastic you sound about the job, the better.
